Scholars - Thank you for having a great week back
in. It was really wonderful to see all
of you! Remember, out motto these next 2 quarters is to think like a middle
school student! What does that mean? How are YOU organizing your thoughts,
assignments that you need to have completed, odd and ends of responsibilities
at school. We really want YOU to take
advantage of these next 2 quarters to get a system in place so when you go next
year, you will have already “trained” your brain for this! We just want you to
be very successful next year in the transition….So, write on the back what you
know you need help with before going to middle school and how we can support
you!
Parents – We have had a wonderful week back to
school. The kids seem to jump in and get
back to routine quickly. We have a new
music teacher and technology teacher.
The kids met Mrs. Howly this week(tech teacher) and hope to meet the
music teacher next. The applications are
out for the Math and Science Extravaganza.
The Extravaganza will be on Thursday February 12th.
Academics –
Math –
Objective 5.OA 1&2 – Write and interpret numerical expressions(order of
operations using brackets)
Reading – RI5.6
– Analyze multiple accounts of the same vent or topic, noting important
similarities and differences in the point of view they represent(he said – she
said)
Writing – Obj. W5.3 a&b – Identifying and creating a
fantasy writing piece with planning, edited, and final draft.
