What is a Big Bang Fair? BIG BANGis the name of an annual event in the UK that aims to show young people the exciting and rewarding opportunities out there for them with the right experience and qualifications, by bringing classroom learning to life. Brassfield Big Bang is going with this idea and molding it to meet the needs of our students. The vision is for adults to lead sessions or stations igniting the curiosity of students on digital tools, Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math ideas, and Maker Challenges! What will the Brassfield Big Bang Fair look like? Students will be have the opportunity to choose two sessions to attend, each 35 minutes long. It has been scheduled like an in-house field trip, carefully taking into account lunch and specials so that students attend at their normal time.
The Big Bang Fair will essentially take the time of recess and science for the day.

  • Where? Most sessions will be in the Learning Commons. Weather permitting we hope to have Geocaching treasures hidden all over campus. Sessions will include:
    • ● Robotics ● Jr. BTV ● Celebration Station ● Maker Challenge ● Music ● Legos Challenge ● Coding ● Sphero Golf ● Geocaching ● Art ● Digital Scavenger Hunt ● Flight Simulations ● Build a Roller Coaster Otherstations may be named later as parents and volunteersjoin in the effort!

    • We need volunteers! No experience is needed, however if you know of any parents who work in STEAM fields, please pass along this information so we can recruit volunteers to help at stations that align with their career!

    • Volunteers interested in being a part of the Big Bang Fair, please contact Terri Hawley at thawley@wcpss.net
