PARENTS – We have CASE21 this week! Please have your child here Tuesday-Thursday by 9:25.  Science Case21’s are on Thursday, please work with your child using the Study Guide.  They can use their class notes or Science packets to help them find the answer.  The CASE 21 in math is very important because is will help determine what math class they will take in middle school.   Have them practice the games on the internet or have them bring  home their math café journal so you can see what the objectives “look like” that we will see on the test!

5th Grade Yearbook Picture Day

5^th Grade Parents,

For the 2014-15 yearbook we are doing “Photo Booth” themed group photos of the 5^th graders.  Tracks 2 & 3 will be doing this on Thursday, 19 Mar. 

The teachers will set up the groups for us. We have a few props for the kids to use – things on sticks - like moustaches, ties, etc.  The kids are welcomed to bring in any props that they would like to use – hats, boas, moustaches.  We don’t want masks or sunglasses as we want to be able to see their faces.  Also, they might want to dress up a bit – keeping in mind the school dress code. 

We hope this will be a fun event for the kids, make some nice memories for 5^th graders, and be a good addition to the yearbook.

We look forward to creating some fun on Thursday,

Welcome Back Track 2 - We have missed you!

Scholars -  Welcome Back! We have missed you! We hope that you really enjoyed your time off and if you were here, we hope that you were able to play in the snow.  It was great snow for making a snowman.  You will notice that you have science vocabulary words this week.  You will be learning the definitions in class.  You will not need to write a story with the words(unless you would like to be creative) but you will need to show in your sentence that you know what the word means in context.  Write the definitions in your own words – that will help you to remember the definitions.  Also, please be mindful that your UNRAAVEL article answers need to be in COMPLETE sentences.  Your work will not be considered complete this week if you do not put more effort into them.

We will be having CASE 21 in a 18 school days – let’s buckle down and ask questions and learn what we need to learn to be successful in quarter 3! We challenge you to have the most improved scores in 5^th grade! Are you up for the challenge? If you are up for the challenge talk with Kid Gov and give them ideas as what you would like as an incentive if you win this challenge.  We were about 67% in quarter 2 – I like the sound of 85% - YOU CAN DO IT – YOU ARE ALL BRILLIANT!

Parents -  Welcome back! We hope that you enjoyed the break! We should be getting our track 2 shirts delivered soon, thank you to each of you that donated money for other s to get a shirt.  Thank you Ms. Missy for organizing for us.   You will notice that you can purchase a yearbook until 3/27 and Spring Pictures are on 3/18.  We have 3 more weeks until the end of the quarter so let’s work really hard to finish quarter 3 with exceptional scores! Encourage your child to watch the videos to help them understand any objectives that they may feel unclear with.  Encourage them to play any of the games listed on the website.  This is a fun way to enforce different language arts topics.
